Under the Papua New Guinea-Australian Policing Partnership (PNG-APP), Detective Senior Constable Hakaiwa and Constable Koma from the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) took part in Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) training, becoming leading experts in the forensics field.

The SOCO courses included crimes scene management, search techniques, sketching, note-taking, photography, and fingerprint examination.

The PNG-APP programme aims to empower the RPNGC to bolster law enforcement capabilities and foster safer environments for all in Papua New Guineans, particularly battling serious and organised crime. Hakaiwa and Koma are now well placed to make significant strides investigating crimes and promoting security in their communities.
