ELSIE Initiative Call for Proposals
April 5, 2023
The Elsie Initiative Fund (EIF) has awarded over 17 million dollars' worth of funding to support the increased representation of women in security services since its creation in 2019. On Thursday (30th March) representatives from around the world met in New York to launch a new call for proposals.
Canada, Britain and South Korea all pledged their continued financial support of the Initiative in the coming years, with the Canadian Ambassador for WPS guaranteed support for the EIF until the end of 2025.
At this stage of the applications, the Elsie Initiative is accepting Letters of Interest from peacekeeper-contributing countries for funding to assist with:
(1) a barrier assessment
(2) flexible project funding
(3) gender-strong unit premiums.
