Ewa Skoog Haslum becomes new Marine Chief of Swedish Defense Force

December 17, 2019: The Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish Defense Force, Fleet Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum has been appointed new Marine Chief. She will be leaving her position as Vice-Principal at the Swedish Defense College on 1 February 2020.
Skoog Haslum was previously a commander of Sweden's 4th Naval Warfare Flotilla, where she was Western Europe's ears and eyes in the cat and mouse contest with Vladimir Putin. That's because 4th Naval Warfare Flotilla, Sweden's naval rapid-response unit, keeps a strict eye along Sweden's long coast, a hugely sensitive and strategic part of the world not just to Sweden but to NATO and Russia as well.
